ABOUT THE AUTHOR

My name is Allison Irey. I am currently 21 and enrolled in university studying media arts production- essentially a mixture of TV, film, music, video, audio, podcast, and other media production. I love music, and I love writing about music even more; I was even my high school newspaper's entertainment editor and wrote album reviews every month. Needless to say, I love all things creative and entertainment, and I am looking forward to spending my entire life within the entertainment industry.
As for my "credentials" of being an Avicii fan:
I have been a fan of Avicii for over ten years- so, yes, these reviews might be a little biased, but I hope you can find it in your heart to look past that.
Tim's music has gotten me through the hardest parts of my life, and truthfully, I'm not sure I would still be here today if it had not been for him and his music.
The Avicii logo was the first thing I was ever interested in getting tattooed on my body, and sure enough, two days after I turned eighteen, it was indeed my first tattoo.
I own all of his main albums on CD, and I don't even own a CD player.
I was in the top 0.1% of Avicii listeners on Spotify last year.
In 2021, I listened to 138 hours of Avicii music on Apple Music.
The first music video project I ever made was for Without You.
To top it all off, I am also a moderator for the biggest Avicii Facebook group that currently exists.
Needless to say, his passing in 2018 really hit me hard, and like many other fans, I still struggle with that very regularly to this day. However, I am so very thankful for the Avicii community for being as endlessly kind as they are, since we all have experienced the same grief.

ABOUT THE PROJECT
Even though I consider myself to be one of the biggest Avicii fans out there, recently I came to realize that there is so much of his (released) music that I still haven't heard. I was thinking about this towards the end of 2020, and decided that I wanted to take the plunge and listen to every song Tim ever released- including remixes, singles, albums, writing/producing credits, and more- and then review each song honestly. I will be listening to the songs in chronological order, from the beginning of Tim's career up until the present day, so I can hear the evolution of his style as I go along.
At this time, I will only be covering the Avicii tracks that have been released at any point in time. Some of the tracks may no longer be on Spotify or iTunes, but at some point they did have some sort of "formal" release. Maybe in the future I will cover bootlegs, IDs, and other unreleased music, but since those tracks can be so hard to find and properly place on a timeline, I will only be listening to and reviewing Tim's released music for now.
As of 1/3/2021, I am not sure how often I will be posting these reviews. I am a college student who doesn't have much free time, but I hope to get one or two reviews out every week. The ultimate goal, however, is to have every single song listened to and reviewed by the end of this year.
If you would be so kind to do so, I would love to hear your thoughts on any of the reviews I write. You can create an account for this blog in the top right corner in order to interact with this journey. Let me know if you agree or disagree with my thoughts by leaving comments on my blog posts, and share any stories you may have with a specific song if you would like!
Below you can find a link to the timeline I will be following to listen to each song chronologically. This list was created by myself and Milan Parmar, a good friend of mine who I am very thankful for and who is more of an Avicii expert than I could ever be. With that being said, we could very well be incorrect about some release dates or titles or other information, so if you see something and you know it's wrong, please do not be afraid to reach out and let me know!
***I am not affiliated with Avicii or the Tim Bergling Foundation in any way. This is a fan project.***
