Listen to "LT 2" here.
I actually really liked this! The synthesizers he used sound very basic, in a way, but I still think Tim was able to use them wisely enough that I didn't find them to be too annoying. I think it sounds great for a 2006 era song.
I don't think this melody is as strong as the one from "LT 1", though, but I can appreciate the lack of constantly changing keys. I also find it interesting to hear that it ends so abruptly, but, I guess it is a demo, which is okay.
What really stood out to me was how this song was mixed (or not mixed). I have dabbled into music production a little myself, so I am really able to tell when something sounds a bit off. It sounded like the lower frequencies really overpowered the higher frequencies, and when the higher frequencies were soloed, you can very much hear a difference. Have a listen for yourself, and music producer or not, you'll be able to hear that.
I think I would also give this a four or five out of ten; once again, I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it either.
